"Betty" is our rescued family member and is our inspiration behind our Sweaty Betty Bone Toys.  They have become a  big hit and a portion of all sales goes to help Doberman Pinscher SOS.

"Floyd"
Meet Betty.  She was abandoned by her owners and left behind with no humans in sight.  She was picked up by animal regulation and kept at the shelter for almost 3 weeks.  On the day Betty became available we took her home.  She has been severly abused and is afraid of men.  She has had numerous litters of puppies and is only 2 1/2 years old.  She came to us weighing in at a measly 49 pounds.  Needing to gain at least 10 pounds.  Her nipples were cracked and bleeding from the engorgment of milk left behind from her last litter. Betty is now spayed and living the good life.  She loves our children and other fur family members including our cats.  It will take a while for her to trust the man around the house but with patience and love we have faith she will come around. 

We here  have decided to help support the Doberman Pinscher SOS with donations.  We have developed a bone toy in Betty's honor made from Reclaimed felted wool sweaters called the "Sweaty Betty".

Betty Update April 2010
We have had Betty for 2 years now and she is becoming part of the family more and more each day.  Her coat is beautiful, healthy and shiny and you can see a twinkle in her eye that wasn't there before.  She has taken a fancy to car rides and is very dog & cat friendly.  She is responsive to her obedience training and is such a wonderful dog.  She is still a shy girl with strangers and may always be, but, she has definitely stolen our hearts and those of many close to us.  Our Sweaty Betty Bone Toy is still her favorite toy and your Sweaty Betty Bone toy purchases and donations are still very much appreciated.   Spread the word!

Betty Update  April 2009
It has been a year since Betty came to our home.  She is just now healing from her milk engorgement and no longer has scabs.  She is at a perfect weight and can now keep down her food.  She has gained 12 pounds!  She is letting my husband touch her more each day.  She still bolts at sudden movement but once she realizes nothing has happened...she runs back as if to say ooops...just kidding.  She wags her tail daily and sleeps with us every night, adores our children and gets along great with our kitty's.  We've sold many Sweaty Betty Bones this past year and have made donations to the Doberman SOS Rescue.  Thanks for your support!
About Sweaty Betty Bones
        All Sweaty Betty Bones are handmade from upcycled  & felted wool sweaters. We consider them a plush type toy.  Each is stuffed with Kapok stuffing and wool.  We finish the "Sweaty Betty Bone" with contrasting stitching surrounding the outside adding strength and a touch of style.

 All patterns will vary as all sweaters are not the same.  This is what makes this toy so unique.
